Previous Contest Winner
The winner of Issue 39 Ultra High End contest is TIMOTHY from LEWISVILLE, TEXAS! Here’s his submission for “something that is the same when in motion or still”:

I once saw an albino alligator at a zoo, just as invisible and much scarier.
Congratulations TIMOTHY, you won the heated weighted blanket! The blanket will keep you comfy and still like this gator here. Check out the other submissions:

Either too slow or too fast, you can’t even tell it’s moving.
I didn’t expect some of the entries and I think so people may have been confused with the prompt. Either way, they were entertaining. I hope to see some funny ones for this next week.

This week’s focus is time wealth specifically using your time purposefully and/or effectively. As you may know, I love to cook. However, cooking can take a lot of time and if you’re doing it alone can make it a daunting task. There’s the prep, the cooking, there may be multiple methods of cooking for different recipes, then the plating, and the cleaning.
However, there’s a few tools in the kitchen that have saved me a lot of time. This week, I’ll be giving one of them away as a prize, the air fryer. I’m sure most of you either have one or used one before. It has replaced the microwave as my primary way of re-heating and even cooking many items because of the ease of use, crispy doneness, less greasy compared to stovetop or deep-fry, even heat, and quicker than an oven for smaller items.
Here are just a few things I have made/re-heat with my air fryer: pizza, cookies, bread, mixed veggies, nuggets, fries, baked fish, grill cheese, wings, bones for broth, chicken tenders, Italian meatballs, bacon, quesadillas, and many more. So, if you need one or in need of replacing your current air fryer, here’s your chance to get a Cosori 5 QT Air Fryer.

This week’s Superpremium topic is udemy.com. I learned about udemy many years ago and I believe this is one of the best platforms for you or as a gift to elevate the little free time we may have throughout the week. With the advent of social media and smartphones, we as a society have developed a way to use our time that is inefficient, have little to no value, and can become a liability rather than an asset.
However, udemy.com is one of those sites that I believe provides enough content and value that it can replace that idle time we use on the former. There is a free trial, but for just $35 a month, you can educate yourself on many topics during your free time and at your own pace. The education you receive from just $35 is extremely valuable, especially because the courses have already been vetted and rated by many other users to allow you to not waste time on courses that are not effective.
Many of these topics you can search online for free; however, udemy.com allows you to look through categories and find high quality, no fuss courses that take away the time it takes to find high-quality, effective, and educational content. The key is it not only provides you a way to use your time, but it saves you time by giving you the topics you want to learn about without delay.
The best thing is the courses are generally taught by credentialed individuals that have a passion for the topic and can speak about it in a way that most people can understand, from the beginner level to the professional level. The courses have different levels allowing you to grow your knowledge once you become familiar with a topic and since the subscription comes with 11,000+ courses, you will be able to learn something new every time you visit it.
Even if you don’t plan to go through with the subscription plan, I recommend just signing up for the free trial and learning something that you’ve been thinking about for the last year. Maybe it’ll surprise you and actually show how just 5 minutes of your time can make you more educated, more motivated, or happier. If you do use the free trial, I recommend starting with something that may help you with personal development, such as self-confidence, because if you start there you will enjoy the time you spend on udemy more and see its effectiveness that it can bring to your free time.

Since I want to focus on using our free time wisely, let’s move to a topic that I feel is more common today than ever, not having a topic to talk about.
Even in my own life with my wife, many times we sit at the dinner table and just staring at our food because we spend so much time together, generally there isn’t much we don’t know about each other already. Sometimes, we have to look towards other random news or events in our lives to find topics to discuss.
Also, since socializing online is the norm, deep and intimate conversations between friends seem to be less frequent. I wanted to provide conversation starters but I didn’t want to limit it to just a few people, so I spent some time to put together a small table topic pack for everyone!
Deal #1: If you click this following Canva link, Conversation Starters, you can access a printable slide deck that you can use. The topics and prompts were not created by me, I just put in the work to put it in Canva for everyone to use. The title at the topic of each card is the situation you may want to use it for: Friends, Funny, Deep, Couples, First Date, Dinner, Network, Bar, and Just Met. There are about 300 prompts.

The Accessible Core
Time Without Purpose
Most of us work and go through our lives fighting to get free time to do the things we love. However, have you ever heard about how people that enter retirement, on average, have a higher mortality rate? There are many factors but one that I want to discuss is time.
Specifically, time without purpose. Free time, extra sleep, and one more episode is all we hope for when we are fighting for a few extra minutes. But what happens when you get hours back and you’re not prepared. Many studies have indicated that there is an increase in mortality once a person enters retirement. One of the major factors that are especially prevalent in military veterans is the loss of purpose.
Many people have a goal, a task to achieve, or a purpose to struggle to wake up and face their daily grind. But when those things are taken away, they may feel relaxed the first few days or weeks, but then they lose their purpose for even waking up. As relaxation becomes monotony, and monotony becomes boredom, then boredom becomes lack-luster moments, many people lose themselves in their once coveted “free time”. Many go back into the work force to find purpose, others do some outlandish stuff that gets them into trouble, and a few meet their demise due to lack of purpose or will to continue.
Now that I’ve brought you down, let me shine a light on this concept. You don’t have to retire! You don’t have live a boring life! You can simply LIVE!
Find a purpose. If you don’t have one, use your skills, education, and talent to search for it. The journey to search for a purpose in itself can be the purpose. This drive will fill your time and allow you to have a goal. However, even if you think the journey is too daunting, or a purpose is out of your reach, I will provide you with some guidance for those that need help from a third-party:
Pick a topic, any topic, use udemy if it helps, and become knowledgeable enough to re-teach it. Then teach it. Either through videos, in-person, or in writing form. Make the topic your life’s work.
Volunteer. Many times, someone without purpose feels that way because they no longer feel needed. When you volunteer, you become the provider for someone in need. This connection will foster your purpose and may become something much bigger, even give purpose to those you help initially.
Text or call someone. Every time you have but 5-10 minutes, instead of scrolling social media or searching the web, text or call a friend or family member. Use the conversation starter pack I’ve created to start a conversation. Most of the time purpose is lost due to lack of long-term or healthy relationships to foster a healthy lifestyle. Creating these relationships start today, and with the little time we get throughout our lives before we get all the time back in retirement.
I hope this topic has given you purpose to find purpose so when you are free of time constraints, you are truly free.

Issue 39 Community Poll Results
Here’s the results from last week:
I asked if you believe time travel exists, and it was a near 50/50 split with “Yes” winning out by just a little. Either way, I believe this question is much more complex and either choice would require an extensive explanation. So you know, I believe it is both. In perception, in isolation, and only moving forward, yes. However, no to moving back or in global or universal scale.
I was extremely surprised about this because only a single person chose “Every instance is unique” versus “History repeats itself”. However, their comment makes me think that will additional context everyone would choose the same answer. The comment was “history doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme.” So given that comment, I believe some would see it still as history repeats itself (concept) while every instance is unique (concept application). I hope that wasn’t too confusing.
TRIVIA: What is the term for the phenomenon where people feel that time seems to pass more quickly as they age? Only 1 person go it correct.
Answer: time compression
