This week’s focus is time wealth. Amazon’s Prime Membership can really help you with this aspect by getting household goods in a pinch, or getting the right gift to someone last minute. Other than speedy delivery service, it can also help you relax when you have some down time with the family. Let’s get into the details about the Amazon Prime Membership.

Amazon no longer allows gifting of Prime Memberships, so I’ll be giving a $139 Amazon eGift Card to you to purchase the Annual Amazon Prime Membership. When you use the gift card to pay for it, they will put a temporary hold on the card for a few days then release it, just FYI.

Most people have heard of or use Amazon Prime quite often. It has become the epitome of delivery services in the world. Nearly any household product can arrive within 2 days, and if you’re near a warehouse, 1 day!

BUT -- that’s not the only thing that makes the Amazon Prime Membership amazing. Here are some benefits you may not know about:

  1. If you live near one of their 110+ warehouses in the US, you can actually get same-day delivery if you meet a minimum amount (normally $25). Or pay a small fee between $2.99 - $5.99 if you don’t meet the minimum.

  2. Whole Foods (500+ stores in the US) is owned by Amazon, so you can get discounts with a Prime Membership at this grocery store. Also, you can get same-day delivery from Whole Foods through Amazon.

  3. This is somewhat new, but you get GrubHub+ Membership free for a year, and that itself can have it’s own section.

  4. You get Prime Video, which is Amazon’s streaming service, included with the Membership. It has 25,000+ movies and TV shows and you also get discounts on movie premieres.

  5. Amazon Photo, which is an unlimited digital storage of HD photo and 5GB of HD videos included with your Prime Membership.

There are more benefits, but I’ve touched on the few that many of you may not have heard of before. It really is a great value for $139 a year. The best thing is you can win it from this week’s Ultra High End Photo Contest!

The Superpremium

This week’s Superpremium topic is Crown Block.

Last week, I mentioned the Ducky Tran staff went to Crown Block as part of the Dallas itinerary. Well, let’s dive into what they experienced and if it’s worth your time.

The Crown Block is an upscale restaurant that is set at the top of the Reunion Tower in Dallas, Texas. The views and ambiance is the main reason why people make reservations to this fine dining establishment. Since it has the stage already, Crown Block definitely had to step it up to pair great foods with this marvelous atmosphere.

The staff spent $205 on dinner for two at Crown Block. Check out the collage of items they had below, one drink was ordered but not shown in the collage. Note that 2 of the 6 items were complimentary, so the restaurant is not cheap and meant as a special occasion dinner for most.

Bread and Butters (Top Left); Lobster Bisque (Top Center); A5 Striploin Miyazakigyu (Top Right); Birthday Chocolate Cake Pops (Bottom Left); Salmon Steak (Bottom Right)

At 7:00pm that weekend, the restaurant was packed with business casual meet-ups and date-night couples trying to catch a view of the Dallas night scene while having dinner. As you walk in, there were walls full of wine showcasing the tastes of their common clientele. The open-kitchen concept allowed us to see the fresh seafood, breads and meats that were prepared for the guests.

Everyone was dressed to impress. From the guests to cooks to servers. The Ducky Tran staff were not used to going to frou frou restaurants and it was obvious by their timid behavior and reactions to Crown Block’s posh atmosphere. However, they noted it was a wonderful experience and would definitely do it again on a special occasion in the future.

With everything mentioned, Crown Block is recommended for special occasions and a definite “must try at least once”. The ambiance is really why you go, but the food is nothing to scoff at either. Just expect $100/person before drinks. I may be giving out a trip that includes the Crown Block as a prize in the future, let me know what you think in the comments.

The Premium Core

This week’s Premium Core topic is Go! Go! Curry!

In the Summer of this year, I opened Go! Go! Curry! (GGC), a Japanese katsu curry restaurant, in Plano, Texas. At GGC, we proudly serve a hot Japanese katsu curry entree within 3-5 minutes of ordering. We do this to keep up with everyone’s fast-paced lifestyle while providing food that makes you feel at home.

In reference to this week’s theme, time wealth, sometimes getting a quick meal during road trips, between 30-minute lunch breaks, or after a long hectic day of work can really be therapeutic. Also, if you eat with peers, it can make you happier.

But it doesn’t always have to be out of necessity when you order or go out to eat. It’s also good to make time to share a meal with your family or friends. This really combines the social, mental and time wealth pillars in a single event. To help some of you save some time during your day, I’ve created an amazing deal with the staff at GGC.

Deal #1: Any member that goes to Go! Go! Curry! in Plano, Texas between November 29, 2023 through December 12, 2023 can get a large katsu curry bowl for just $0.55! So for $0.55 plus sales tax, you get a protein, cabbage, Japanese Kanazawa-style curry and rice. You can select from chicken, pork, sausage, tofu, vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura or fish katsu for your protein. Each member can redeem for 2 meals during this time, and I am giving out 50 meals! You MUST show your membership card and you MUST sign-in via log sheet provided by the GGC staff.

Don’t forget, in Issue 1, I’ve mentioned two deals that will last through the end of 2023. Here’s a reminder:

Deal #2: Any member that refers at least 12 premium members to Ducky Tran in 2023. I will give them 12 months of Ducky Tran Membership for FREE!

Deal #3: Any member that completes Deal #2, will have an opportunity to win $1,000 eGift Card from a drawing in January 2024.

I know this week’s deal is local to DFW as most members are in the DFW area; however, we are starting to expand outside DFW, so expect all deals to be accessible to everyone in the future, likely to start on Issue 4.

The Accessible Core

Why Do Other People Seem to Have 30 Hours in a Day?

This study shows that efficient time management is directly related to positive work performance and personal well-being. However, there is a point where you may experience an overloaded schedule and feel that even 24 hours in a day isn’t sufficient to cover everything that you want to do.

That brings me to the point that quite often the issue of not having enough time isn’t about time at all.

Example: I run a few brick-and-mortar businesses, have 4 children (5-year old and younger), host events nearly every week and still have time to do things like research and write the Ducky Tran newsletter. Many of my peers wonder how I can manage all of these tasks. Yes, time management is a big part of it, but the biggest part is something many people overlook in their lives. I simply don’t do many tasks that people would expect.

In reality, most people that feel they don’t have enough time simply do not know how to give up or stop doing tasks that have little to no impact on their lives. Here are some things that I give up or do not prioritize in my laundry list of tasks:

  1. I rarely watch TV, streaming services or movies. When I do, I combine it during meal time, or while I drive I listen to them. This is more efficient and this entertainment is not impactful to my life.

  2. I rarely give up sleep. This may be a surprise to people since I have so many kids. Yes, I wake up for them in the middle of the night; however, I have a specific bedtime and wake up time that I adhere to strictly for my entire life. This has made it so I’m extremely productive during the day. I don’t pull all-nighters and I don’t sleep in. What I’m giving up is the attempt to catch-up during the night which ends up ruining my day. Instead, I just make sure my days are energized by having proper sleep.

  3. I don’t get caffeine in any form. This paired with #2 saves more time than many expect. I don’t need anything to get me going in the morning since I have a sleep regimen. I don’t need to make pit stops for coffee throughout the day since I am already energized.

  4. I rarely use my personal social media other than to promote businesses or to find old acquaintances. This probably would save some people many hours each week.

  5. I work from home, but I don’t clean up throughout the day. I make sure everything is clean during a specific time at night so I don’t waste time cleaning it during the day.

  6. Here’s something I’ve forced myself to do for a long time. I make lists on my phone of the most impactful things I need to do in a day, and do it from the most impactful to the least impactful. After a week, I realized I didn’t even have to do most of the tasks I didn’t get to.

So next time before feeling like you’ve ran of time to do something, think if you even have to do it. Or if there is something else more impactful in your life that needs to be done. Don’t forget, what is impactful to you might not be the same for everyone.

Time is limited, time is valuable, time cannot be bought or earned. However, you can make it feel like you have more time by simply not doing tasks that have little impact on your life. Don’t waste it away.

The D-Logo Baseball Cap

The second referral gift is a logo baseball cap. It’s the first item that can be purchased on the Ducky Tran store, but with just 4 referrals you can get it as a gift! I think caps are pretty common and makes it easy to showcase Ducky Tran so I wanted to make it easy for every member to get one. I hope to see everyone get at least to this milestone!
